Murder Mystery May is Acorn TV’s month-long celebration of its crime and mystery slate, spotlighting new premieres and fan favorites in a cohesive seasonal takeover. The goal was to create a bold, scalable graphics system that could unify the campaign across promos, social, and on-platform placements while feeling premium and unmistakably Acorn.

The Logo System

 

The entire package is built from a single gesture: one diagonal slice through typography. That cut creates tension, movement, and identity in one decisive move. It splits, reveals, and energizes otherwise static type, becoming a simple but powerful structure that carries the entire campaign.

Type Over Footage

 

When layered over live action, the slice becomes narrative. It cuts through scenes, adds momentum, and brings editorial energy to title cards without overwhelming the footage. The typography does not just sit on top of the frame. It interacts with it, turning a minimal device into a storytelling tool.

Branded Color & End Page

 

On Acorn’s signature purple, the system becomes graphic and iconic. Clean type, one sharp cut, and a clear call to action create a strong final beat. The result is an efficient, highly adaptable identity that scales seamlessly across every deliverable while remaining instantly recognizable.
